The article, entitled “The global spectrum of plant form and function” spans the widest range of growth-forms
and geographical locations to date in published trait analyses. By mapping worldwide variation in six traits critical to growth, survival and reproduction of vascular plants, the authors arrived at a detailed quantitative global picture of plant functional diversity.
